A downloadable game for Windows

You are the landlord of apartment 407 at 43 Ash Way. Your tenant has abruptly left, leaving all his trash behind. You must now clean up the mess before you can put in back on the market. But after entering the apartment you realize this maybe a bigger task then was expected.

Clean the trash bags, boxes, cans, and do general repairs before you can leave.

You've brought several tools for this job, including

A toolbox,

Bleach,

A mop,

A box of lightbulbs,

and maybe that cross on the wall will come in handy.

Good luck Landlord.

This game was made with Gamemaker 2. Using assets from itch.io from Toy Master, Cafofo Music, Kokoro Reflections, and Zodee.

I would love to hear any thoughts on the game. Positive or negative. I'm fairly new to game dev and would really appreciate the feedback.

Okay, so the first time I kind of just did whatever, but the second time I gave it my all but the demons just kept wrecking the apartment. Both times I got the good ending, is there a specific order to clean everything? Or is there just one way for now?

First, thank you for playing.

Everything below will be spoilers.

So honestly the game could be won in under 3 or 2 minutes. Most of the stuff in the apartment is just for scares or distractions. The only things you need to clean up are the boxes, cans, and trash bags. After that the closet boy shows up like you’ve seen. And clicking him with the cross is what gets you the good ending like you have been. Clicking him with anything else or just nothing will result in the bad ending. There is a handful of events that are rare or require certain actions to be taken and if you want I can give you a list of them so you can check them out.

Thanks again for playing and leaving a comment.

Honestly never gathered that I was supposed to use the cross on the closet, I used it on the mirror.

Yeah, I'd love to have a list of the triggers so I can see what I found and what I didn't.

I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to horror games, so take this with a grain of salt, but I felt like this game had just the right combination of tense atmosphere and genuinely terrifying visuals to create a scary experience.  Despite being a 2D pixel art game, the developer was able to still create that atmosphere, which I think is really impressive.

It's a short and... well, "sweet" isn't really the right word for a horror game, but I think you get the idea.  Despite being a short game, there's a lot of variety in the scares so that no two playthroughs are 100% alike, and I'm sure there are many spooky things I missed throughout the three times I played.

If you're looking for something spooky that isn't too long, I'd recommend this game!
